Introduction

Hello people, today I speak of the true strength of SharePoint is the Microsoft Office integration with SharePoint, my examples have function with the possibility of using folders and documents with Word columns, the second example is to use the Search function with our SharePoint Word documents.

Integration Sharepoint document folder and Microsoft Word

This is one of those features that

Add columns to the type of field you need, in this case used add these two field types:

  • Parents "Text"
  • Budget "Menu of Options"

When adding a document to our SharePoint folder, the columns we create are available for support, but we can also use existing fields in the folder sharepoint for our models of the Document.

To add the fields from the SharePoint List in Word Document, we must select the option "Insert>Quick Parts>Document Property"where the existing fields will be listed in our list of SharePoint, to help our SharePoint document.

In this case I used the fields from the list of Sharepoint:

  • Author
  • Parents
  • Budget

Whenever a change is made in the fields of our list of SharePoint Documents, our document will also be changed without the need to change the document.

Search Word 2007 document in SharePoint

The Search feature is actually very powerful and very useful, but I always thought that only use the pages of SharePoint would be a waste of such an important resource and the deeper and broader knowledge of the tool, I found something I found very helpful with research use of SharePoint with Microsoft Word which shows a real integration between these two great tools.

Configure SharePoint Search in Microsoft Word

First I apologize because I do not use Microsoft Word in Portuguese.The first step will be to open our new document Work and select the following options.

"Review> Research> Research options> Add Services".

To access the Search service in SharePoint to work with Word Search, you must add the Web Ifrvices default Search for SharePoint.
